The Last Thing I Remember, by Andrew Klavan

Book review and giveaway!

Charlie West lived the life of an ordinary teenager—good student, black belt in karate, motivated—until he wakes up strapped in a chair next to a table of blood-splattered instruments of torture. He manages to escape from his unknown captors only to discover that an entire year has passed, of which he remembers nothing. Finding himself pursued by those he perceived as the "good guys," he must run to save himself and to discover the truth. Yet when Charlie learns of a plot to assassinate a government official, he risks all to save a stranger.

Does all this sound vaguely familiar? I reviewed the 2nd book in this series about a month ago (The Long Way Home). Well this first book in the series did not disappoint me! I thought it was great! I give it 4 .5 stars. It was very exciting right from the very first page and continued all the way through. Great development of characters, great plot, full of adventure, this book has it all! It flows real nicely and is very easy to read and understand. There is a lot going on in this book but it does not get confusing at all. I really can not recommend this series enough for those who love a book full of excitement (if you are looking for light fluffy comedy - this is not for you!) This is a good book for all ages (no sex and no bad language, although there are some graphic spots). This is labled YA but would be totally enjoyable for an adult, male or female.

Giveaway - Someone from the "Thomas Nelson Group" read my review of the 2nd book I posted. She emailed me and asked, since I got in right in the middle of the series, would I like a box of the first book to read and give away. She sent me 10 books! So here's how this is going to work.
I am going to donate one copy to our library.
I am going to save one to put with the other two to make a complete set to giveaway in the fall (nice Christmas gift!)
I am going to give away a few in the fall before the 3rd book comes out (just as a reminder)
And I am giving away 3 copies now!

Win it for yourself, win it to giveaway as a gift, whatever you want. Remember, this is the first book in the series. To enter - just comment here or email me. Please make sure to include your email address so I can tell you if you have won.
Please only US and Canada. Deadline is April 9th (two weeks). I will announce the winner here on my blog. All my blogger friends - could you please help by mentioning this on your blogs, since I am giving away 3, I would like a few more entries (if I get a lot of entries I will giveaway 4).

  6. Thank you for the compliment on our blog. My hubby works very hard on it. He usually makes the background picture him self and spends a lot of time matching the colors.
