How many Child Care Workers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

One of my biggest "pet peeves" is when you take out a new light bulb, right out of the box, you screw it in and it doesn't work! My biggest ALTRA annoying "pet peeve" is when you take yet a second light bulb out of a brand new box and IT doesn't work either! Tell me - what are the chances of this happening? AND! it wasn't just a table lamp that needed the bulb either! It was a ceiling light that I needed a step ladder for because we have such WONDERFUL high ceilings! I was a little annoyed.

On a more positive note... I turned on CMT last week and saw a video of a group called "Point of Grace"! This may not be so amazing to you if you don't know Point of Grace.
They happen to be a Christian Adult Contemporary group, and they just happen to be one of my favorite Christian groups, I have about 3 of their CDs! Wow, that really threw me for a loop! CMT playing Christian music! So I put one of their songs on my blog for this weeks new song. Let me know what you think of them, I love their sound together, they have great voices.

On Saturday I went out to lunch with a couple of women that I used to work with. We had a great time. We stayed at our table for 2 1/2 hrs just talking! They both quit working at the school last year too, and both of them work for the NY state park system.

Saturday night Glen and I got together with two of our best friends for dinner. We love getting together with them! They are fun to be with and we just really enjoy their friendship. Someday they will be moving to Texas (they own a place down there) and it will be a really sad day for us!
I LOVE Texas! and can't wait to be visiting them, but I will miss them so much. Uh Oh, now I did it... tears in my eyes!

Sunday Glen and I went to Geneva to "Tractor Supply" shopping, love that store! They have all kinds of cool stuff! Clothes, toys, books, and all kinds of farm stuff. Then we went to "Tim Horton's" for coffee and danishes. Personally I think they have the absolute best cappuccino! If you have never had it you should try it. Hmmmm... speaking of, Mom in TN, Shelley in MI, Shelly in NC, and Paula and Casey in CT - Do they have Tim Horton's there? If not, I feel your pain!

I commented on all your comments so be sure to go back and read them!

This weeks Top 5 -
Favorite books that you HAD to read in high school. I know this is going to be stretching our memories a bit, some more than others, LOL (Mom). but give it a try.

1. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, I loved this book and still do!
2. Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes, Very sad book, I would love to re-read this someday.
3. To Kill a Mockingbird - by Harper Lee, A true classic!
4. Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Green, wow I love all these books!
5. Diary of Anne Frank by (duh!) Anne Frank, Great book! also sad.

Lets see if you can remember some!

  1. Ok, I'm not going to do the high school book poll because frankly, I never read a single book I was supposed to in high school.

And yes, I chose "public nudity" as something I think should be legal. I love being naked!!! It's a great thing and I don't think people should be ashamed of their bodies. I think that is why there are so many stereotypes of women out there today - because we are programmed to not be ok with ourselves.

  2. Good answer Paula!
And thanks for being honest about not reading in HS, LOL, I didn't read alot of the books but loved others!

  3. Favorite books that you HAD to read in high school. I know this is going to be stretching our memories a bit, some more than others, LOL (Mom). but give it a try.

    1. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck
2.Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou I absolutely LOVED this book!!!
    3. Hatchet, by ?? (Read this one in elementary school)
    4. Grendall
    5. Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank

  4. Oh yeah Hatchet by Gary Paulsen (I think that is how you spell it) He is a great author! I am glad that he is on the required reading list now!

  5. Top 5 books had to read in HS......
    Can't remember back that far!!!
I didn't like to read back then. In fact hated to read..now I love to read. Funny how your life changes.
Have not heard Point of Grace on CMT yet, like the song. Why does it surprise you that CMT is playing this? They do play songs of faith not a lot make it to the top 20 in country music.
Believe it or not the light bulb thing happened to me too. I think the whole box of 4 was bad..we ended up taking them back to the store. The new box was good.
My pet peeve is got to be an unmade bed and NOT putting things back from where you find it. I go to use it and it is it there!!! HATE THAT.

  6. Hi wendy,
Point of Grace is pretty good!

I do have a Tim Hortons but I'm not a coffee drinker. However - I love a "cappucino" from Beaners now known as Bigby's.

Once again you & I have a few of the same things. Here is my Top 5 HS / middleschool books:

    1. To Kill A Mockingbird -though actually we read this in middle school.(I think if I get a dog, I am going to name him Atticus - that is such a great name!)
    2. Catcher in the Rye - Salinger
    3. Diary of Anne Frank

can't think of anything else at the moment......losing my memory!

  7. Sorry mom didn't mean to confuse you, Steady ON is not the song they are playing on CMT it is another one by them, but I couldn't find it.
