Apple time

WHAT'S HAPPENING -
School starts tomorrow!! Woot woot! Back to the old schedule of kids in the mornings and afternoons. It will feel good. It will be nice to see all the kids, I am a little excited.
My husband got all the info about working in Alaska. He has contact info and phone numbers etc. He was told it would be best to work up on the North slope. He probably won't even be considered for a year, he heard they were a little slow right now. But I told him it was probably best to at least call and inquire about it.
So we'll see, I'll let ya'll know.
It has been cold here the past few days! Only in the 60's. I am not ready for summer to be over. I want it back! Come back Summer!

I went and picked apples up at our barn. We have 2 trees and they both have real good apples.
From barn apples to yummy applesauce!

The big news is that our friends, that moved to TX this time last year, are here! They are visiting for a couple of weeks. It was so great to see them. We went out to dinner to one of our old "hang outs". Glen helped them get their camper all set up on our barn property. They have a really cute set up, it just looks like they belong there at our land.

TV -
Any watchers of "Ice Road Truckers"? Well I just found out something. The guy that gave my husband all the info about working up there knows Lisa from the show. He said that she had never worked up there before, they just pulled her up there for the show because they wanted a woman on the show! How fake is that! He also said that she is a ditz, which I already knew, heeheehee. He also said that Jack Jesse (my favorite) is a real nice guy.

KNITTING- A knitting joke for you.
A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blond behind the wheel was knitting!
Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled, 'PULL OVER!'
'NO!' the blond yelled back, 'IT'S A SCARF!'

BOOKS -
"My Name is Mary Sutter" by Robin Oliveira. Very very Good book. This is a historical book that takes place during the Civil War. Mary is a young woman who has dreamed of being a Dr. a surgeon to be exact. She has been turned down by the medical schools, and no Doctors around will apprentice her.  She does the only thing she know will get her the experience - she joins the Army, well so to speak. She volunteers at first a helper then a nurse, and joins forces with a well know surgeon who teaches her how to amputate legs! There are a lot of historical facts in this book, the Author sure did her homework!
